Campaigners from Defend Dorset NHS were successful yesterday in persuading the County Council's Health Scrutiny Committee to refer back to the Secretary of State for Health the decision by the Clinical Commissioning Group to move Poole A&E and maternity services over to Bournemouth.
The council will now request that Matt Hancock MP reviews Dorset CCG’s clinical services review proposals on 2 grounds: 1) review of travel times, that these should not cause additional loss of life, and 2) review of the community hospitals proposals.
Poole Labour is fully behind maintenance of these services and will continue to support the campaign to protect our NHS.
