Minister refuses to meet with Labour over Poole A&E

As previously reported, on the 16th of November Poole Labour wrote to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock MP. This followed Poole Council leader, Janet Walton refusing a cross-party approach. We had called for a meeting to discuss residents' concerns regarding the closure of Poole A&E and Maternity Unit. We have now received a response advising he is unable to commit to a meeting and that the case has been referred for review via our local authority.

In fact, this is not the case. Poole's Tory led council has the chance to make their intentions known on the 17th of December and listen to Poole Labour's recommendation to refer this to the Secretary of State. Join us for a demo outside the Civic Centre on 17 December at 4.30pm.
