Council delay decision on A&E

Members of Poole Labour demonstrated outside the Full Council meeting on 13 November, ahead of a vote to refer the transfer of Poole A&E and maternity services to the Secretary of State for decision. Inside the meeting it was quite clear that the Tory administration did not want to take a decision, and instead agreed to ask the People Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Health and Social Care) to decide on the issue. Yet no date was given for this meeting - and in theory it could even take place after the Secretary of State has already decided! Labour members will continue to oppose these plans.
